I both tried these 2 fondant/rolled icing in my fondant covered projects and going straight to the point - I like Silver Spoon better. Very pliable and smooth in texture. Plus it's cheaper than Satin Ice. I used Satin Ice first because most of the cake decorators recommend to use this for starters. I bought Silver spoon when Bake King (baking supplies shop near our house) ran out of Satin Ice and the saleslady recommend me Silver Spoon instead. I may be doing it wrongly but following the basic fondant rule of kneading first before using, achieved different results: 1. Satin Ice breaking easily and 2. Silver spoon as pliable and workable as dough. I'll definitely repurchase Silver spoon for my next fondant project unless I find a much better alternative. ;)
